Snapdragons in the Potomac series have been specially bred for tall, strong stems and excellent flower quality, making them ideal for cutting. Antirrhinum 'Potomac Appleblossom' produces sturdy spires of bi-colored, pink and white flowers that make a strong vertical statement in borders, flowering from late spring to summer. 150cm is the maximum height. 30cm maximum spread.

Sowing Information

Sow Antirrhinum seeds indoors or under glass from January to March on the surface of a good quality seed compost and gently firm down. Place the seed tray in a propagator at a temperature of 18-21C (64-70F) or seal inside a clear polythene bag until germination which takes 10 - 21 days. Keep the compost damp but not wet and do not exclude light.

When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 7.5cm (3”) pots and grow Snapdragon plants on in cooler conditions. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions over 7 – 10 days before planting outdoors. Plant Snapdragons at a distance of 30cm (12”) apart on any light, well drained soil in full sun.
