Guardsmark is an improved Chioggia beet with greater uniformity in both shape and colour. Flattened, globe shaped roots 7.5 cm (3") in diameter have attractive green tops and beautiful purple and white interior zoning. Flesh has a sweet flavour with a peppery finish.
